On September 29, the Choir and Orchestra students held their first concert of the year. Led by Mrs. Brosius, there was much to enjoy!
Sinfonia played four songs, including the 1st movement of the Brandenburg Concerto. They also played Irving Berlin's "God Bless America," as well as a song called "Measured Tones." They ended their portion of the evening with "Hey Jude" by The Beatles.
Then the Notable came on stage and performed and danced to several songs that were familiar to many: "September," "Under the Boardwalk," "I Want it That Way," and "I'm Still Standing." Each number got lots of cheers and applause from the crowd. The Men's Chorus followed with two songs of its own: "VIve L'Amour," and "Come Sail Away With Me."
Then the Concert Choir came on stage to perform "Grow, Little Tree" and "Smile." The Symphonic Mixed Choir followed with their rendition of "A New Horizon" and "Hatikva." Then the Concert Choir and the Symphonix Mixed Choir joined together on stage to close out the evening with "Singahahambayo" and "Go the Distance."
All of the groups performed wonderfully and did well demonstrating what they have learned in the first few months of school. Everyone had a great time performing and the audience was very appreciative of the music put on that evening!
The next Choir and Orchestra performance is scheduled for December 12. Mark your calendars now and get ready to join the fun at the North High School auditorium.
