The heart is the body's energy pump. It is always beating and driving the body forward.
Similarly, the parent's who support the marching band give it energy and propel the band members and staff forward toward their performance and competition goals.
What is the point of this (admittedly, tortured) metaphor?
The marching band received a generous gift of a portable electric generator to help power the front percussion ensemble electronic equipment (the keyboard, the microphones, the mixing board). When we perform at Jim McCann stadium, we can plug into the electric systems, but when we are traveling to an unfamiliar stadium, the generator is very important!
