Important Information for Band Summer Preparations

START DATES

Pre Camp will start as planned on July 20.

Ms. Loney and the staff are working on the details to make things work to meet the COVID requirements. (Click on this link to learn more about these important requirements.)

Part of these steps is that Ms. Loney needs to submit lists of students to be approved by the district. If you have not yet confirmed your student and they are interested in participating for the 2020 season, please let us know before June 12th.

ADDITIONAL ITEMS

The only additional cost is black band shoes--if you need a new pair. We will send out information on that in the coming weeks but they tend to cost around $30. Students are also expected to have khaki shorts: true khaki rather than brown khaki. (Please ask if you have questions.) and white sneakers for summer uniforms.

As explained in the season video, students are asked to bring a large water bottle (like the 64-ounce ones) and a one-inch black binder with sheet protectors for rehearsal. They will also need

1. sunscreen

2. bug spray and

3. a hat.

Also, due to COVID requirements, they will need to come to rehearsal with a mask.

FINAL FORMS/PAPERWORK

Beginning this year, we will use the high school athletic system of Final Forms for paperwork. You will be able to complete most necessary forms online and submit them through there. Please see the June 7th email from Booster secretary Mandy Slack-Baker for directions on how to access and complete Final Forms. ALL FORMS MUST BE SUBMITTED IN ORDER TO START REHEARSAL ON JULY 20TH.

EIGHTH GRADE FAMILIES

You will not be able to enter information through Final Forms as eighth-graders are not yet part of this system. Please watch for another email with information about how to complete forms.

Obviously, there is still a lot that will need to be determined. We expect that we will be able to have a full season with precautions. If this changes, we will continue to make adjustments as needed. There are most likely things that will need to be done differently than we have in the past but we will work to find ways to make things happen.
